Healthy
Communities Unity & Diversity Council promotes the concept of
study circles to help improve community relationships. Several local
circles focused on racial harmony and diversity issues, and other
discussion ideas include "building better neighborhoods"
and "closing the education achievement gap."
Would
you like to join a study circle? Call HCLC at 326-6232 to learn
more about this special opportunity.

Study
circles bring together diverse groups of residents to have open
discussions over a course of four to six meetings. Groups are led
by trained facilitators using manuals offered by Study Circles Resource
Center. As a key element, group members adopt a work plan and carry
it out to benefit the community.
The Unity
Council continues to support the efforts of the Regional Race Relations
Council of Northwest Indiana to bring study circles to Lake, Porter
and LaPorte Counties.
