Healthy Communities focuses on health, tobacco control, and literacy efforts. The grant has ended for the SAFEKIDS Chapter. At present, no organization in LaPorte County offers free car seats. Also, the Super Shot immunization program has been discontinued as the LaPorte County Health Department provides free immunizations for children.

A non-profit organization bringing together dedicated individuals representing health care, local government, education, business, social service agencies and other interests to collaboratively pursue quality of life projects. Issue councils include: health, tobacco prevention and cessation, covering kids and families, transportation, and literacy.
