Home visiting service for new parents to offer support. Services continue for several years and focus on positive parenting. Healthy families of LaPorte County is a voluntary home visit support program offering services to expectant and new parents. A training Family Support Specialist visits the home, helping parents develop good parenting skills, like healthy bonding, to get their children off to a strong start. Healthy Families provides information on family issues, such as child growth and development, discipline, finances and education. Healthy families also refers parents to community resources. Healthy Families services are available to Spanish-speaking parents. Healthy Families of LaPorte County is fully credentialed, based on standards developed by Healthy Families America and Healthy Families Indiana.
