County Park
3855
S. 1100 W., Westville
Truly
a multi-use park. There
is a no-leash section of the park that is fenced in about
3.5 acres so families can come out and let their dogs run,
exercise and just have fun. Also, basic fishing poles are available
for the public to use. Channel catfish, blue gill and other varieties
of fish are stocked in the pond. The fishing pole program was
put together with the assistance of the Northwest Indiana Steelheaders
club.
Already
established as one of the area's best wildflower viewing secrets,
the east property is dedicated to hiking trails only, to protect
its delicate natural beauty. In the fall of 1993 the west side
of the property was designated for multiple use trails. Mountain
bike, horseback, cross country skiing and hiking have increased
greatly. The west side of the property is also host to a large
wetland area where waterfowl abound and wood ducks and geese are
common sightings.

you have a site we should see, let us know!
We'll pin point it on our map.
