Washington Park
The Lakefront off lake shore Drive, Michigan City

Located along the Lake Michigan shore, this 90-acre recreational park features a lifeguarded swimming beach, public access marina, fishing, fitness trail, picnic shelters, playgrounds, amphitheater, band shell, and outdoor ice skating rink, the state's only operating lighthouse, as well as many festivals, outdoor concerts and world class sporting events.

Washington Park also features fun for all ages at its Zoo. See your favorite animals in a beautiful dune setting or walk up to the observation tower for a stunning view of Lake Michigan.

Also located in Washington Park is the Michigan City Senior Center offering a wide variety of programs and activities for all persons over 55 years old.

The Parks & Rec Department offers a summer playground program and a variety of youth sport camps and adult leagues if softball, volleyball and basketball.
